Travel Photography
Travel
photography is a great hobby for any holiday
goer, and with a few helpful tips you can bring home some
great images that you can enjoy
forever.
Travel photography is
especially exciting because it is often accompanied by
adventure, the unknown, and good
times.
Travel
photography is so much more than just pretty
pictures. It is opportunistic photography and you
never know what you're walking into. The idea behind travel photography is
that you are capturing images of culture, scenic views ie the
essence of a place no matter what its location or
size. That doesn't mean that travel
photography is a pushover.
Although
travel photography, like news photography, is strongly
directed toward content (what, where, who), great travel
photography is closer to art. The key is to make your images
appealing to a wider audience than normal. The hallmark
of great travel photography is that it creates the
emotional experience of being there. This is both
photography while travelling and photography of your
travels. The best travel photography is not only well
exposed and sharp, but also observant and imaginative.
Technical advances in cameras and imaging have been so
great in recent years that travel
photography is no longer the province of a
few lucky professionals.
It
doesn't have to be just about travel that is unique for
you, it's also about places and experiences other people
might find appealing, and some of those might just happen
to be in your back yard. Most travel photographers start
out by making pictures of things to simply describe what
they see.
I hope my
images and my comments will help passionate photographers
interpret, rather than describe, what they see before
them in their travels. I take all kinds of 'travel'
photos: landscapes, buildings, and
people. Travel
photography is a great hobby for any holiday
goer, and with a few helpful tips you can bring home some
great images that you can enjoy forever. In up coming
articles I will explain to you some helpful tips on
getting some great travel
photos.
